William B. Cashion - Chairman of the Board

Mr. Cashion previously served as a director of a very successful Federally insured bank in Alabama over a twenty four year period. He has been a business owner and operator for over 63 years. One of his current undertakings is the development of two large real estate sub-divisions.

Michael Burgamy - Director

Mr. Burgamy is a private investor since 2001. Currently, he is the Lead Director of CoBiz Financial, Inc., a $3.4 billion-in-assets financial holding company headquartered in Denver, Colorado. Prior to that he was Chief Financial Officer of Colibri Holding Corp., a manufacturer of outdoor living products located in Denver, Colorado from 1997 to 2001.

James E. Crites - Director, President and CEO

Formerly, Senior Vice President/Eastern Caribbean Region Credit Officer of FirstBank Puerto Rico and prior to that, President and Chief Executive Officer of the First Virgin Islands Federal Savings Bank from 1992 to 2000. Mr. Crites was previously a Vice President with Chase Manhattan Bank and a managing agent with the Resolution Trust Corporation.

Alda Monsanto - Director

Ms. Monsanto is retired. She is currently Director of the Virgin Islands Capital Resources, Inc. and the Second Vice President of the Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands. Prior to that Ms. Monsanto served as Chief Labor Negotiator for the United States Virgin Islands Government from 1983 to 1991, Training Coordinator for Career Exploration Programs for the St. Thomas/St. John Chamber of Commerce from 1981 to 1983, and Executive Director of the Virgin Islands Housing Authority from 1971 to 1980.

Merry Nash - Director

Ms. Nash is former owner and president of Islandia Real Estate, one of St. John’s leading full service real estate companies. She is now senior broker for the firm, with 20 years’ experience as a realtor armed with a keen knowledge of the industry and the Bank's marketplace having called St. John home for more than 45 years. Merry is an avid sailor and has served two terms as commodore of the St. John Yacht Club and is a former member of the St. Thomas-St. John Chamber of Commerce.

Waring Partridge - Director

Waring Partridge is an active investor. He leads his family office and foundation, The Partridge Group and The Partridge Foundation. Waring served in the Navy after graduating from Yale College, followed by chief-of-staff positions with two congressmen, leadership positions with McKinsey & Co. and AT&T, and entrepreneurial ventures in insurance and telecommunications. Waring and his family lived on St Thomas for a dozen years where he served as a Trustee of the Virgin Islands Montessori School, the Antilles School, and the Virgin Islands Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He is a member of the Rotary Club, the National Eagle Scouts Association, the Cruising Club of America, the New York Yacht Club, the St. Thomas Yacht Club, the American Legion, and The Navy League. He also serves on the boards of the Kent School (as Chairman), the Partridge Foundation, the Gruber Foundation at Yale, Mystic Seaport and Quinnipiac University and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.

Thomas K. Moore - Director

Mr. Moore fully retired from the federal government in 2005. He graduated in 1961 from Harvard College with a degree in Physical Sciences and obtained his Juris Doctor from Georgetown Law Center in 1967. He served as Assistant US Attorney before practicing law privately from 1978 to 1992. In 1992, he was appointed as the Chief Judge of the District Court of the Virgin Islands. He retired from the bench in January 2003. In his retirement, he was elected and served as a delegate to the Fifth Constitutional Convention of the Virgin Islands. He is also a member of the St. Thomas Historical Society and a past commodore and long-time member of the St. Thomas Yacht Club.

James Benton - Director

Mr. Benton is the founder and President of J. Benton Construction, LLC and past President of Benton Construction Company, Inc. that has been building in the Virgin Islands since the late 1980's.  He has worked on many notable projects throughout the islands, including the Wyndham Margaritaville Vacation Club, Captain Morgan Rum Distillery, Divi Carina Bay Resort & Casino, The Westin St. John Resort and the Viceroy Anguilla.  In addition to private sector work, he has completed numerous projects for the VI Port Authority, WAPA, viNGN, GERS, Dept. of Public Works, VIPD and the National Guard.  He is also the Vice-Chairman of the Board of the Good Hope Country Day School and chair of its Finance Committee and a board member of the Virgin Islands Government Board of Land Use Appeals.  Mr. Benton obtained a B.S. in Construction Management from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston and is currently enrolled in an Advanced Management Development Program in Real Estate at Harvard.      

Manhar Desai – Director

Through experiences gained during a forty-year career in the industry, Mr. Desai is one of the leading insurance experts in the USVI. Following graduation from Bombay University in 1971, with a Bachelors of Commerce, Mr. Desai held a wide range of positions with New India Insurance in both of their Mumbai and London offices. During his 24 years with the company, he was involved in administration, marketing, underwriting, and rose to management positions overseeing as many as one hundred staff members. For the past 17 years, he has served as the president of Topa Insurance Services, Inc., substantially expanding the company’s insurance volume both in the USVI as well as in other Caribbean islands.
